Wheaton College (MA) Department of Chemistry invites applicants for a full-time Visiting Assistant Professor in Chemistry beginning in Fall 2021. This is a 1-year position. A Ph.D. in Chemistry is required, and prior teaching or post-doctoral experience is preferred. Teaching responsibilities will include a 100-level Introductory Chemistry lecture, a 200-level Organic I lecture, and associated labs for both courses. The position requires holding office hours and meeting regularly with the Chemistry Department.

Wheaton is a private, coeducational, liberal arts college of 1800 students located in Norton, MA and within easy commuting distance of Boston and Providence. Wheaton has been operating under a remote hybrid teaching model in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. It is our hope to return to an in-person teaching model for the fall of 2021. While this position may be temporarily remote, there is an expectation that the teaching will be on campus when the college determines it is safe to return to in-person operations.
